Kartik Aaryan has publicly refuted claims regarding his participation in a purported Independence Day celebration in Houston, USA. This comes after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) expressed serious concerns about the event's alleged ties to a Pakistani-owned organization.
FWICE had previously reached out to the actor, urging him to withdraw from the event due to national interest considerations, particularly in light of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
On Saturday evening, Aaryan's team released a statement clarifying that he is 'not involved with the event' and has never made any 'official announcement' regarding his attendance.
The statement read, 'Kartik Aaryan is not associated with this event in any capacity. He has never made an official announcement about participating in it. We have contacted the organizers and requested that all promotional materials featuring his name and image be removed.'
In their correspondence, FWICE emphasized, 'As you are aware, FWICE has directed all members of the Indian film industry to completely boycott Pakistani artists, technicians, and performers due to Pakistan's ongoing involvement in terror activities against India, including the recent tragic incident in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians and tourists. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also issued a similar directive that must be strictly adhered to by all Indian citizens and public performers.'
